# Personality Tests
## DiSC
The DiSC test examines people's personalities and uses four principal traits:

- **D**ominance: active use of force to overcome resistance in the environment
- **I**nducement: use of charm in order to deal with obstacles
- **S**ubmission: warm and voluntary acceptance of the need to fulfill a request
- **C**ompliance: fearful adjustment to a superior force
It is the test which is the foundation of the book [[Surrounded by Idiots by Thomas Erikson]]. This test is used a lot in business settings to find the best team. However, scientifically to this day the test has not been shown to be valid.

## Big Five Personality Traits
Also known as OCEAN or CANOE. Compared to the DiSC test, the five personality traits come from an empirical finding in early lexical studies that English personality-descriptive adjectives clustered together under factor analysis into five unique factors. At least four independent sets of researchers have come up mainly the same five traits (see [wiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Five_personality_traits)).

### Openness to Experience
Describes how much a person likes arts, creativity, imagination and how liberal someone is. People with high openness tend to be intellectuals that like arts. Low openness is rather pragmatic and data-driven
