# Recommendation by Companies

|
- Keep CV simple and highly readable
|
|
- PDF format
|
|
- no objective / sentence
|
|
- black text, font, size simple and consistent
|
|
- No typos
|
|
- Bullet points
|
|
- put contact info prominent (name, email and phone, github link)
|
|
- single page if possible (except for engineering / technical where a lot of projects might be relevant)
|
|
- Custom CV for every position you apply
|
|
- X by Y by Z formula
|
|
- "Accomplished X as measured by Y, by doing Z."
|
|
- Be sure to have quantitative measures such as:
|
|
- second place out of 50 teams
|
|
- selected out of 275 applicants
|
|
- grew revenue by 15 percent
|
|
- Advanced formatting:
|
|
- experience before education (if long out of school)
|
|
- school: name, degree, major, GPA and date of graduation
|
|
- Technical skills listed prominently
|
|
- mention which tech tools used for which project |
